he just graduated from cal state sacramento actuall in spring. he also told me how this whole morning started. they have smoke detectors in the house. they also had a second security system that called them to alert them that there was basically -- their alarms were going off to make sure they were okay. the father in the household got awoken by the smoke alarm, called the son and they were able to get out safely. the call came in for firefighters around 3:15 this morning as a brush fire. when crews got here on scene, half of the house was in flames. they say the flames were shooting up to 30 feet high. vallejo fire department has a call in the support of american canyon fairfield and cordelia and because of that, they were able to attack it aggressively and quickly and offensively. they were able to go inside and make sure that they salvaged as much as of the house as they could. we smoke to the battalion chief on scene who said the biggest challenge was the size of the house. >> this is a big old house. a lot of rooms off this. crews went throu
